"The Old Dark House" - for the Terror Academics - CinemaDave

As a Monster neophyte, Cinema Dave heard about "The Old Dark House" since 1973. Most of the pictures featured Boris Karloff as the mute butler named Morgan. The cast included Charles Laughton, two time Oscar winner Melvyn Douglas and Gloria Stuart, who provides commentary.



The trailer reveals the most iconic scenes from this motion picture that is full of fabulous James Whale one liners. However the film is a disappointing filmed stage show. The best part is Gloria Stuart's commentary, the ensemble performers and James Whale's little techniques of mise en scene.
