"The Girl Who Played with Fire" is the 2nd film of the "Millennium" trilogy

**The Girl who played with Fire** is the second book in Stieg Larsson’s **Millennium** trilogy, the first story, **The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo** is a Swedish film that has remained a consistent local box office hit for independent movie theatres. The 3rd book, **The Girl who Kicked the hornet’s Nest** is currently on the New York Times Best Seller’s lists.

**The Girl who Played with Fire** takes place a year after the events of the first movie. Despite living an idyllic life in the Caribbean, Lisbeth Salander is haunted by the nightmares of her past. She returns to Sweden and is implicated in the murder of an arch enemy and two allies. Reuniting with redeemed journalist Mikael Blomkvist, Lisbeth uncovers a dark conspiracy that is far more personal than expected.

Lisbeth is the antisocial heroine who can force a confession threw ropes and bondage while wearing bloody kabuki make-up. Containing look-away violence, these sequences are well done with creeping tension enhanced by excellent sound direction. Lisbeth Salander shares traits with Hannibal Lechter, their behavior is atrocious, but at least these characters have a sense of humor.
