Mar. 2nd, 2010 10:06 pm Lent Day 14 Larraine Newman's Day
Today is Lorraine Newman's birthday. Truly a victim of her success with the original cast of Saturday Night Live, she was an ensemble player who made the rest of the Not Ready for Prime Time Players look great. Think Larry of the 3 Stooges, not the star, but the one who set up the gag to let Dan Aykroyd or Curly Howard hit a home run.
What is she doing now? Mostly voice over work, including the Oscar nominated motion picture, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs."
She also reprised her Connie Conehead character in a cartoon "Coneheads" television point.
Newman is also a fan of "Creature Feature" and monster movies. She costarred with Oscar Winner Louise Fletcher in Tobe Hooper's "Invaders from Mars" remake.
