FLiFF presents a free screening of "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" at Cinema Paradiso

The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and Funding Arts of Broward present the first FAB! Films for Kids of 2009 on Saturday, January 3, 10:00a.m. at Cinema Paradiso. The morning includes the timely and heartwarming movie Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, starring Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine). Following the film will be a related activity. Admission is Free.

'Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" centers around a young girl living in the struggles of the Great Depression. 10 year old Kit lives in a boarding house her parents own in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has a passion for writing, & dreams of having a story published in the local newspaper. With the help of her friends, Sterling & Ruthie her dream may finally come true.

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl is the first film in the American Girl series to have a theatrical release; the first three were television movies. The New York Times, Jeannette Catsoulis said, "this classy, heart-on-its-sleeve movie is packed with laudable life lessons.”

Cinema Paradiso is located at 503 SE 6 Street in downtown Fort Lauderdale, a block and a half east of the Broward County Courthouse on the south bank of the New River.

Parking is free in the Courthouse Parking Garage.
