This once in a lifetime event, is a one-day groundbreaking experience that offers actors, filmmakers, and writers of all ages an opportunity to learn from a string of accomplished industry professionals. Its unique, intimate structure encourages participants to network with other aspiring actors and filmmakers, as well as with the panel, and gives them the "practical knowledge" they need in order to succeed under the hot lights of Hollywood or in their own local film market.
"It's empowering to meet people who have accomplished what you dream about on a daily basis," says creator of the program, David Donnelly, who was introduced to the South Florida film community while making a short film that premiered at last years’ Palm Beach International Film Festival. “There are so many talented filmmakers and actors in South Florida that are wondering how to take their career to the next level.”
The distinguished panel includes writer/producer Shin Shimosawa, who has written for TV shows including Smallville and The Dead Zone and who has co-produced the hit the Grudge and Grudge II with the legendary Sam Raimi. Matt Perniciaro, writer of Standing Still, starring Academy Award-nominated Enchanted actress Amy Adams, will also be speaking. Kevin Mann, producer of the soon to be released comical saga Fanboys, starring Veronica Mars superstar Kristen Bell and featuring Jamie King of Sin City and Seth Rogen of Knocked Up, will also be part of the panel. South Florida ’s own Ed Arenas, who has locally cast for such blockbusters as Any Given Sunday, Bad Boys, and Bad Boys II and Irv Goodnoff, AFI graduate and local cinematographer/filmmaker who has shot over fifty films will be speaking.
