Dr. Anton Phibes could be considered Vincent Price's "Phantom of the Opera." Phibes is a music professor gone mad when his wife dies in a car accident. Phibes loses his voice and is disfigured. The music doctor blames the medical doctors and proceeds to kill them off in biblical fashion. The murders are darkly funny in the manner of an early Alec Guiness comedy.
Joseph Cotton is the co starring doctor who must perform miracle surgery. Cotton's life saving surgery is performed under the most cliff hanging situations. A real nail biter.
