ANNOUNCES CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR

Best of Florida/Made in Florida Competition

(Ft. Lauderdale, FL, June 3, 2005) The Broward Alliance and the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) have announced a call for entries from professional video and film production companies for a Best of Florida/Made in Florida competition.

Categories for the Best of Florida/Made in Florida competition are professionally produced commercials, public service announcements, animations, shorts, documentaries, music videos, experimental and industrial films or videos from the state of Florida.

Selected by a panel of judges, the top three entries in each category will be honored during an Awards Ceremony to be held July 8. Winners will receive a framed certificate recognizing their accomplishment, and two industry badges for the 20th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, which plans to reel out over 150 films from 35 countries October 14 –November 20 this year. Winning directors, producers and work are also to be featured in the film festival's official program.

In addition, the award-winning productions, from the The Best in Florida/Made in Florida competition, will be screened July 8-10 at Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival’s art house, Cinema Paradiso, located in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The deadline to submit an entry is June 15, and there is an entry fee of $20-$35 depending the category being entered.

Submissions are accepted on VHS, DVD or Beta SP formats.
