"Gringo Funk" opens with verb and energy, featuring shots of Brazil. Then the film bogs down with a 3 character drama involving corporate intrique. Overall "Gringo" does not have enough "Funk" to sustain interest.
Overweight girl faces an important decision.. The film is very candid and opens with the hands of the young actress touching the skin of her belly fat. The film pays off in the end, for the narrative is simple and takes one from Point A to Point B with a circle composition.
Homeless Hero on the streets of Miami, with clean cinematography capturing the dirt and grim of the homeless in Miami. The title alone, "Sole Food" raises much speculation from the double entendre. Good performances overall.
