Public Domain Horror Classics "Black Dragons"

Bela Lugosi take on the unmasked future Long Ranger in "Black Dragons."
This was one of the first propaganda thrillers produced by Hollywood post Pearl Harbor attack. Bela Lugosi is sinister from beginning to end. Lugosi plays a Nazi who turns Japanese soldiers into American Industrial Captains. Sinister and timely.

Cinema Dave Swashbuckling ournalist and

PUblic Domain Horror "The Invisible Ghost"

Bela Lugosi plays his most sympathetic villain in this movie. Lugosi portrays a man who loses his wife and mind. The audience knows that Bela is smothering his victims with his own jacket in his own home. However the flat footed cops do not notice a pattern. Poor Monogram fun!

Cinema Dave Swashbuckling ournalist and

PUblic Domain Horror "White Zombie"

While "Dracula" made Bela Lugosi a household name, "White Zombie" the better thriller. Lugosi is at his hypnotic best as sugar plantation owner who hires zombies to do his bidding. Lugosi has the world on the string, until he meets a woman and her boyfriend. A love triangle ensues and many people join the ranks of the dead....and undead.
