Cinema Dave  Swashbuckling ournalist and

Women, War and Sally Field

I like Sally Field.
When she was filming "Norma Rae" in Alabama, my Aunt Cheryl helped her find the ladies room. My Uncle Wayne partied with Beau Bridges. I heard nothing but good words about the cast and crew from "Norma Rae," that I am thrilled Sally Field won her first Oscar for that movie.

Last night at the Emmy Award Ceremony, Sally said the following on the FOX Network;
"And, let's face it, if the mothers ruled the war, there would be no (expletive) wars in the first place,"

The Fox Network went silent and revealed a large disco ball in the auditorium.

As the step-daughter of stuntman and sometime Tarzan actor Jock Mahoney, I still like Sally Field, yet her naive Hollywood perspective is revealing. As the guys used to say in the locker room, before they were emasculated by the 1990 Pop Culture,

"If those mothers ruled the world, there would be a war once a month!"
