"Dinosaurs Alive 3D" - a triumph of science over propaganda

Political opportunist Michael Moore has a new documentary being released Thursday about health care. In the television commercials, Michael Moore claims that terrorist detainees are receiving better health care than the New York rescue workers who cleaned up the city after the fall of the Twin Towers on 9/11. While he is a master of visual propaganda worthy of Nazi sympathizer Leni Riefenstahl, the facts and evidence of a Michael Moore movie do not hold up under scrutiny. Michael Moore is more of an entertainer than a journalist.

If history repeats itself, Moore will receive over 300 million dollars in free publicity from most mainstream News media. Documentaries of raw emotion, political bias and celebrity victimization retain the prestige of the mainstream media elite. Sadly documentaries supporting education, knowledge and science receive scant publicity. Having witnessed ticket buyers leaving Michael Moore documentaries, some people's behavior is neurotic, fearful and edgy. People leaving an IMAX Museum of Discovery and Science documentary usually feel empowered to challenge the future.

"Dinosaurs Alive 3D" is an IMAX documentary playing between the final screenings of "Spider-Man 3." While the short running time (under 50 minutes) leaves the viewer wanting for more, this film in "Dinosaurs Alive 3D" is both entertaining and educational. Narrated by Gordon Gecko himself- Michael Douglas - "Dinosaurs Alive 3D" is a globe trotting adventure that explores the dinosaurs relationship to planet earth.

From the sand dunes of Mongolia’s Gobi Desert to the sandstone buttes of New Mexico, viewers will unearth some of the greatest dinosaur bones from prehistory. Taking advantage of computer graphics and forensic science theories, the skeletons come alive and tell some thrilling tales. With the bones of claws and jaws grasping at each other for millions of years, the paleontologists and film makers recreate a battle between a Velociraptor and a Protoceratops being swept away by a flash flood, killing the combatants instantly. Of course, what dinosaur movie would be complete without an appearance from a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

"Dinosaurs Alive 3D" presents the theory that some dinosaurs are alive today. Guided by some of the world’s preeminent paleontologists from the American Museum of Natural History in New York, ticket buyers will learn that these extinct creatures have evolved into the species we call – birds. Using computer graphics, one sees the relationship between fossil bones and non flying birds.

Sponsored in part by Channel 7 WSVN and Florida Power and Light, the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery and Science has presented special live action programming and exhibit for the weekends. "Energy Science Saturdays" will allow people to decorate the Museum’s atrium with chalk drawings. Why? Chalk is a porous type of limestone formed by the remains of micro organisms over millions of years. These fascinating micro organisms were alive during the time of the dinosaurs, just as the energy we use for our air conditioners comes from fossil fuels.

Last, but not least, the dinosaurs themselves come alive with "DinoMight," a robotic exhibit featuring full scaled Stegosaurus, an Elasmosaurus and, of course, the media hog itself, Tyrannosaurus Rex. Museum visitors will be able to take an interactive guided tour of "DinoMight" using their iPods, Mp3 players, or any portable media device, simply by visiting http://www.mods.org and downloading the Podcast. Doesn't "Dinosaur Alive 3 D" sound more fun and enlightening than listening to a self righteous, condescending, spoiled brat, propaganda filmmaker?

I Am The Sun

Happiness, Content, Joy.

The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.

Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.
