July 19, 2007, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" arrive and two ethical librarians (Rob Dawson and Patty Hartnett) plan to hide them until July 21, 2007.

Preceding Harry Potter's arrival, acclaimed author Elaine Viets sold some of her novels.

"The back from the Dead Tour ?!?"
This was a dark joke from the Waldenbooks manager. Elaine is a recent stroke survivor who has made a remarkable recovery. In fact, she is ready to start work on her next "Dead End" novel which is set in South Beach.


Feeling guilty, the manager gave Elaine a free massage.



Thus at the clang of midnight, one of the greatest days in literary history had begun...
