R.I.P Joel Siegel

My first memory of Joel Siegel was in 1981.
He did a movie review of "Raiders of the Lost Air" with Saturday Matinee enthusiasm. He made me like the movie without seeing it. Siegel stayed with "Good Morning America" for twenty six years and he was a fair critic. He also predicted that "Crash" would beat "Brokeback Mountain" at the 2006 Academy Awards.

Living with cancer for many years, he co-founded "Gilda's Club" with Gene Wilder in New York. Living with cancer, Siegel wrote a book for his son, titled "Lessons for Dylan From Father to Son."

He as a classy critic who understood that movies are supposed to be entertaining.
