|Apr. 16th, 2005 11:28 pm PBIFF: Saturday Party!!!|
Tonight the honored guests met with the Palm Beach paparazzi, Leave a comment
including yours truly.
One of the sad things we have witnessed at the 10th Annual Film Festival has been the elitist statements of the local mainstream media. Upon receiving his Showmanship Award, Peter Boyle made a reference to this unfavorable media coverage with one of the best lines of the night;
"I have received some unfavorable press,
but that guy is now sleeping with the manatees."
For some reason, Mr. Boyle wanted to know if I was an American.
Bai Ling was thrilled to hear that I ranked "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" in my top ten list for 2004. Soon to be seen in the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith," Bai Ling has multiple projects coming up; including a future cover on "Playboy." Upon receiving the International Shooting Star Award, Ms. Ling compared the Palm Beaches to Heaven and
"...that the world should visit you!"
Palm Beach prodigy Brett Ratner won't be involved with the next Hannibal Lechter movie, but he does plan "Rush Hour 3." Asked if the next
Jackie Chan-Chris Tucker movie will be shot in Palm Beach County, Ratner replied,
"No, but maybe we will shoot in Palm Beach for "Rush Hour 4."
Leslie Nielsen was on the red carpet on the Boca Raton Hotel and Resort.
He had his Bronx Cheer Machine.
Enough said :)
Except that he is in talks with Jerry Zucker for "Scary Movie 4."
Clint Howard and Linda Blair made fun of my lucky red camera,
but my lucky red camera has given me some great pictures for the last three years. In fact, I may send Ms. Blair and Mr. Howard a picture if they are nice to me in the future :)
