FLiFF 4TH Annual CAN Film Festival for Charity


Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival rings in the season of giving with their 4Th Annual Can Film Festival for Charity at their year-round art house Cinema Paradiso. It's a weekend of holiday films from Friday, December 1 through Sunday December 3, and its all free with a donation of two canned food items or one new unwrapped toy per person. Donations will be delivered to ChildNet and and Broward Partnership for the Homeless.

In addition, your donations make you eligible for a chance to win great prizes and tickets to some of the shows at the new Carnival Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.

Below is the film schedule.

Friday, December 1
7:30pm LA CONFIDENTIAL (1997 / 138 min)
A crime saga may not be your definitive Holiday flick, however is a great movie with a Christmas scene and an all-star cast like Kevin Spacey, Danny DeVito, Guy Pearce and Kim Basinger.

After LA CONFIDENTIAL, a special gift basket provided by the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts in Miami will be awarded. color

Saturday, December 2
11am MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL (1992 / 85 min)
Michael Caine stars as Ebenezer Scrooge opposite The Muppet characters tell their version of the classic tale of an old and bitter miser's redemption on Christmas Eve in this delightful holiday favorite.

12:45pm SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON (1960 / 126 min)
An adventure of a shipwrecked family that makes a tropical Island home, outwits Pirates, a finds a way to make Christmas meaningful. Starring John Mills, Dorothy McGuire, James MacArthur.

3pm ELF (2003 / 95 min)

3pm IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE (1946 / 130 min)
The best Christmas movie of all-time and one of the best movies of all-time! Directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, the story is about an angel that helps a compassionate but despairingly frustrated businessman by showing what life would had been like if he never existed.

After A WONDERFUL LIFE, a pair of tickets will be awarded to the Friday, December 22 "DIANNE REEVES - Christmas Time Is Here" concert at the Carnival Center in Miami

5:30pm CHRISTMAS IN YELLOWSTONE
A breathtaking look at wintertime deep within America's first national park.
