Broward County Library will offer a new program free to the public in 2007. Blues School, an inspiration from the International House of Blues Foundation, will give music lovers an opportunity to attend movies, listen to music and even meet nationally-recognized Blues player Guy Davis.
Starting in early 2007, Blues School will educate and entertain all ages. The dates are as follows:
• Cinema of the Blues, February 5 – 9, 2007, at the Main Library
• Blues School, Saturday, February 10, 2007, at the Main Library
• Blues School, Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the African-American Research Library and
Cultural Library (AARLCC) in Fort Lauderdale
More information will follow including detailed descriptions of each event on www.broward.org/library and a contest to name the Blues School Dog – the mascot of the program! E-mail suggestions for the Blues School Dog to firstname.lastname@example.org. Entries will be accepted through November 3.
