Jun. 11th, 2006 01:35 pm French Open boos or blues
During the French Open in 1989, Michael Chang did what Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe and Pete Sampras could not do. Chang won the French Open. During the Trophy celebration, Chang acknowledged Jesus Christ and was booed by the audience in Roland Garros Stadium.
Today Rafael Nadal won the 2006 Men's French Open Title as he defeated the current best player ever, Roger Federer. It was worth noting that until the Men's Championship Final, Roland Garros Stadium looked empty. Perhaps the spectators were in Germany watching the World Cup Soccer Championships.
