Superbowl X 1976 - CinemaDave

Feb. 7th, 2006 08:15 pm Superbowl X 1976

The first epic battle with the defending Champion Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys lead most of the game, but Bradshaw and Swann took a 21 to 10 lead in the 4th quarter. Then Staubach brought the team back. The final score was 21-17.

The game was played in Miami on a cold day.
During the game,
Robert Shaw was seen running around shooting the movie, "Black Sunday,"
written by Hannibal Lechter's fictional biographer, Thomas Harris.

Refs wanted Dallas to get there

Playoffs. December 28, 1975, Met Stadium. Vikes are winning and it's near the end of the game. Staubach goes back to pass. WR Pearson blatently interferes with DB Nate Wright (who has just as mugh right to the ball), taking him to the ground and in the process scores the winning TD. The refs should have called an offensive PI but instead choose to ignore it. It doesn't get any more blatant than that play when it comes to offensive PI.

Plain and simple, Pearson pushed off and the play should have been called back with a 10 yard penalty. I've hated the Cowboys ever since. That was the Vikes' best chance to win a Super Bowl that area. If they had won it without help from the refs, I wouldn't have been so upset.

Of course, there's another reason for me to hate the Cowboys but it was due to the Son of the Devil himself, Mike Lynn, who made the Herschel Walker trade for (I believe) a total of 17 or 18 players and draft picks.

After 32 years of being a vikes fan, I've pretty much figured they're cursed and Hell will have to freeze over before they'll win the big game.

*Sigh*

Thanks for visiting my website this Christmas Tammy. Being a Miami Dolphin fan, I wonder if we are under some sort of Curse....I mean...since the I've lived in South Florida....that Dolphins won their last Superbowl in 1974 and nothing since.

The scary thing is that the last two times the Dolphins were in the Superbowl, I was living in Tallahassee....maybe I am the curse?

That is not a good revelation on Larry Csonka's birthday.
