Superbowl XXIII 1989 - CinemaDave

Feb. 6th, 2006 08:32 pm Superbowl XXIII 1989

After a ten year absence, the Superbowl returned to Miami.
It was no longer in the Orange Bowl, but Joe Robbie Stadium.

A rematch of Superbowl XVI, the 49ers vs. the Bengals met in a second half epic battle.
There were heroes on both sides, but Joe Montana entered football immortality with his infamous final touchdown drive.

It is interesting to note that Joe Montana's last game was also a playoff thriller in Joe Robbie Stadium, losing to Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins 27-17.
