According to Elwood Blues and the Bluesmobile, Blues Sister Koko Taylor has passed away. According to Elwood;
It's with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I must inform you of the passing of The Queen of the Blues, Koko Taylor.
Koko died June 3rd in Chicago, result of complications during surgery to treat gastrointestinal bleeding.
Daughter of a Tennessee sharecropper, Koko's big break came in '62, when Willie Dixon spotted her and got her a recording contract on Chess. Three years later she sold a million copies of one of her signature tunes Wang Dang Doodle.
