LENT Day 19 The Concept of Super Bands - CinemaDave

Mar. 15th, 2009 12:33 pm LENT Day 19 The Concept of Super Bands

From the late sixties until the late seventies, the concept of Super Bands sold much vinyl and tape. Now in this digital age of industrial distortion, the good music of the past sounds much better than before.

(David Pack & Cindy Morgan)

Last night I was able to witness a bunch of musicians who toured with each other, probably on a double bill with other bands. As most people in the entertainment business can tell you, there is much down time back stage. Some people squander this time, some discuss business during this time and some people form the bond of friendship that endures.

Last night at a free concert in Weston, Florida, I was able to witness enduring friendships and music. RPM - Rock Pop Masters - presented Current & Former Lead Singers & Musicians Of:

Larry Hoppen –Orleans http://www.orleansonline.com
Joe Lynn Turner- Deep Purple, http://Rainbow www.joelynnturner.com
Mark Farner- Grand Funk Railroad http://www.markfarner.com

David Pack- Ambrosia http://www.davidpack.com
Joe Bouchard – Blue Oyster Cult http://joebouchard.com/
Jeff Scott Soto- Journey http://www.jeffscottsoto.com
Robert Papst & Jane Bogaert- Dominoe

(David Pack, Cindy Morgan,Jimi Jamison)

It was a wonderful night, under a fading full moon. While the sound quality was excellent on a technical level, there was something very spiritual about the players last night. The musicians enjoyed each other's company and it became infectious to the audience. What was great was seeing the young people, perhaps 8 or 9 years old, being exposed to such great music for the first time.

To steal a song title, this Superband featuring Orleans Deep Purple Rainbow Grand Funk Railroad Journey Robert Papst & Jane Bogaert- Dominoe = proved to be;
"Still the One."

Joe Lynn Turner, Deep Purple, Rainbow
David Pack, Ambrosia
Cindy Morgan from "Caddyshack and "Tron",
Jimi Jamison, formerly of Survivor(R)
