BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County Main Library, in partnership with the Barry Kaye College of Business at Florida Atlantic University, is presenting two programs in celebration of the groundbreaking Social Entrepreneurs Series, FRONTLINE/World. Dr. Neuman F. Pollack, Ph.D., Director of Executive Relations, Barry Kaye College of Business, Florida Atlantic University is the discussion facilitator for the two FRONTLINE programs that will be held in October at the Main Library. Dr. Pollack will host a screening and discussion of a FRONTLINE/World Series film on Tuesday, October 21, 6:30 to 8 p.m. On Tuesday, October 28, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Dr. Pollack will lead a panel discussion of local business and professional leaders on the topic "How Do We Achieve Interest in Social Entrepreneurship in Today's Global Environment?"
The Social Entrepreneurs series features the stories of people whose ideas and organizations create new and sustainable markets and services that benefit underserved communities in the developing world. This library program seeks to connect communities to the concept of social entrepreneurship and to promote dialogue on a local level.
Funding for the program is provided by the PBS Foundation through a grant from the Skoll Foundation in cooperation with the American Library Association Public Programs Office.
The Main Library is located at 100 S. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. The programs will be held on the 6th floor. Refreshments will be sponsored by the Friends of the Fort Lauderdale Libraries. For more information, call 954-357-7443.
