Like me, Bill Oreilly on Fox News is not excited about this year's Oscar's race. This week he has produced Hollywood Icon Week and has paid tribute to the following actors;John WayneMarilyn MonroeElvis PresleySean ConneryDoris Day.Oreilly brought up some interesting points and had some quality guests related to the icon. I was so impressed that I e-mailed his show, so it might be read on his news show. Dear Bill,I appreciate your Hollywood Icon segments this week. I also appreciate that you began the series with atribute to John Wayne, an inspirational figure from myyouth. Given that NO one is talking about this year's academyawards nominations, I think Hollywood could learn somelessons about movie making and storytelling from theDuke. As the Duke once said;“I stick to simple themes. Love. Hate. No nuances. Istay away from psychoanalyst's couch scenes. Couchesare good for one thing.”Respectfully,"Cinema Dave'Lighthouse Point, Floridahttp://www.livejournal.com/users/cinemadave/"...for those who enjoy the entire experience of movies, from the promotional hype to the criticism given at the dinner table....."
