Kennedy Center Honors for 2006 - CinemaDave

Dec. 26th, 2006 06:52 am Kennedy Center Honors for 2006

Regardless of who is being honored at the Kennedy Center, this yearly event from Washington D.C. is always a treat. The honorees do not give a speech, but are presented with kudos from their contemporaries - http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/specialevents/honors/.

This event mixes education with fun. Three years ago Carol Burnett and James Brown were honored in a wild, wild show. Julie Andrews was the featured presenter for Carol Burnett that included a klutzy fashion show in Bob Mackie gowns. Dan Aykroyd closed the show with the James Brown tribute that was a roof raiser. Last year, Beyonce raised the temperature when she paid tribute to Tina Turner. http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/specialevents/honors/history/home.html

See the Kennedy Center Honors, an event where Washington politicians get together and not act political.
