Arnold terminates drivers who use cell phones - CinemaDave

Sep. 17th, 2006 04:31 pm Arnold terminates drivers who use cell phones

California will become the fourth state in the country to ban motorists from holding cellphones while driving. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced he will sign into this law on September 17th. The law is expected to go into effect in 2008.

Given the near accidents I face in my commute everyday, perhaps South Florida needs to adapt such a law.

I think it's a good idea to enact such a cellphone ban. Too many drivers become dangerously distracted when cell-phoning while driving.

Pedestrians and cellphones are also becoming a problem some of the time.

A lot of clueless pedestrians locked into their cellphone world wander out into speeding traffic while jabbering with the device welded to the ear.
