Glenn Ford - CinemaDave

Aug. 31st, 2006 09:26 pm Glenn Ford

I've been getting reacquainted with Glenn Ford thanks to the Encore Western Channel;

"Cowboy"
"3:10 to Yuma"
and my favorite,
"The Violent Men"

He was also in a classic Film Noir;
"The Big Heat"

Social commentary;
"The Blackboard Jungle"

and some big budgeted films during the 1970s;
"Midway"
and
"Superman."

He lived to be 90 years old and I was fortunate to send him a birthday greeting via e-mail on May Day.

He was a more versatile actor than he was given credit for.

Right on with "The Big Heat" but "Gilda" MUST be mentioned.

Sadly...I only mentioned the ones I did see.
I'm looking forward to seeing "Gilda" someday

I remember that "The Rounders" was a funny movie, with Henry Fonda. Then again, I don't think I was ten years old yet when I saw it.
